Our Workshops

Salsa Dance, 1.5 hrs, $36 or $25 for Studio members

A 90min workshop where you will learn the basics of Cuban salsa and Bachata Dominicana. The class starts with a brief introduction on salsa musicality including beat, styles and demonstration followed by a warmup and learning the basic steps.

We then learn how to do an ‘enchufla' and 'dile que no’ which are the two basic turns of Cuban Salsa - swapping partners to continue perfecting the steps.

Towards the end of the workshop there will be some slow salsa songs for you to keep practising what you’ve learnt and dancing with different partners.

Who it is for:

Anyone who is keen to learn a new dance style!

Cultivating Calm, 1.5 hrs, $36 or $25 for studio members

The Cultivating Calm workshop invites you to experience mindfulness, through guided movement, breath and relaxation, to develop a deep sense of peace and calm in body and mind.

Attendees can expect to be guided through gentle practices to ground and balance their nervous system, restore their sense of ease and develop their capacity to be fully present for life's ups and downs.

Emily will be teaching evidence-based techniques that are also grounded in traditional practices, and utilised by many people around the world to support their mental and physical wellbeing.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those more experienced in mindfulness. You will be expertly guided through all the practices. Bring anything you might need to be comfortable (cushion, blanket, comfy clothes) as we will be sitting, as well as some gentle movement (which can be done on a chair if needed). You might also like to bring a journal to take notes and reflect.

While mindfulness is incredibly beneficial for your wellbeing, there are some mental health conditions that can be contraindicated. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this confidentially with the facilitator.
